✨ Familia — We Re-Open Tomorrow!

Querida Familia,

We’re living in complicated times as immigrants in the U.S. But let me remind you of something: maybe what makes some people so afraid of us is actually our tremendous power and influence. Latina women are one of the fastest-growing sectors of entrepreneurs in the country, building businesses at lightning speed while raising families with strength and resilience.

And my opinion? We should proudly keep standing in that power. We should keep having babies (LOL), keep building businesses, and keep reminding the world — we’re not going anywhere.

So tomorrow, when Matriarca officially re-opens, it’s not just about food. It’s about taking up space and taking pride.

Here’s our last round of ideas of what to do with the product before the shop reopens!

🌶 Chicharrón de Chile

A crunchy, slow-fried jalapeño packed in olive oil. Addictive, smoky, and bold. Five ways to use it:

1. Chicken Salad à la McConaughey — rumor has it he swears by fried jalapeños as the secret to the best chicken salad. If anyone has his number, let us know, because we’ve got his missing ingredient.
2. Tuna Salad Glow-Up — stir it in for crunch and heat.
3. Deviled Eggs Upgrade — a topping that makes people fight over the last egg.
4. Sandwich Superpower — tuck it into a tuna melt, hamburger, or club sandwich. Life changing.
5. Cheese Platter Twist — a spicy counterpoint to honey, figs, or quince paste.
6. Crunchy Pizza Sprinkle — scatter over a Margherita or white pizza.
7. Avocado Toast Rebellion — one spoonful on top and it’s no longer “basic.”

🌽 Masa Harina de Maíz Nativo

Our land-race corn flour is nixtamalized and ground the ancestral way. Sure, you can make tortillas, sopes, and tlayudas — but let’s push it further.

Here’s how I’m experimenting: blending masa harina with cottage cheese and a liquid to make a high-protein waffle. Want to try it with me?

Other ideas for you:
• Gluten-free pancakes with a subtle nutty sweetness.
• Masa harina banana bread.
• Corn shortbread cookies (yes, they’re a thing).
• Savory masa crepes filled with veggies and cheese.
• Masa crackers for your cheese board.

This flour is a canvas — go play.

🥄 Salsa Macha

We’re technically not allowed to tell you to eat this by the spoonful. But between us? Just grab the spoon. That’s the marketing.

✨ Re-Opening Tomorrow

We’ve worked so hard to make sure every box is sturdier, every jar protected, every product worthy of your table.

Matriarca is back tomorrow. Not just a food shop. A movement. A familia.

See you at matriarca.com.

And don’t forget the spoon.
