Familia, We’re Back 🌱✨

The wait is almost over the Matriarca shop reopens on September 22nd at 2 p.m. PST.

Leading up to the relaunch, I’ll be sharing little bursts of inspiration on how to use our ingredients in your daily cooking. Think of these newsletters as mini recipe idea books. Today we start with three of my favorite pantry staples: Pica Maica (our clean chili-lime powder), Caramelized Onion Powder, and Agave.

🌶 Pica Maica (Chile Limón Seasoning)

Our version has no weird ingredients—just clean, bright flavor.

Here are five ways to bring it into your kitchen:

1.Fruit & Veggie Magic – Sprinkle over mango, cucumber, jícama, or even apple slices for a healthy snack kids (and adults) get excited about.

2.Cocktail Rim – Perfect for margaritas, micheladas, or even sparkling water with lime.

3.Grilled Protein Boost – Dust over grilled fish, shrimp, or chicken right after cooking for a zesty finish.

4.Popcorn Night – Toss with hot popcorn and a drizzle of olive oil for a snack that feels indulgent but is still clean.

5.Avocado Upgrade – A quick sprinkle over avocado toast or guacamole gives it instant depth.

🍯 Agave

Our agave is pure, clean, and travel-friendly if you follow my little trick: I refill small glass shot jars (after a ginger-vinegar shot) so I can sweeten my lattes and matchas wherever I go. Other ways to use it:


1.Matcha & Lattes – A natural swap for syrups or artificial sweeteners.

2.Salad Dressings – Whisk with lime juice, olive oil, and a pinch of salt for a quick vinaigrette.

3.Roasted Nuts or Seeds – Lightly coat almonds, pumpkin seeds, or cashews before roasting for a hint of sweetness.

4.Glaze for Roasted Veggies – Carrots, sweet potatoes, or squash caramelize beautifully with a drizzle.

5.Morning Boost – Stir into oatmeal, yogurt, or even drizzle on pancakes for a cleaner start to the day.

🧅 Caramelized Onion Powder

This one is my secret weapon—deep, savory, and a little sweet. I use it everywhere.

1.Roasted Veggies & Proteins – Sprinkle on anything heading into the oven.

2.Sourdough Bread – Fold into your dough for an earthy, aromatic loaf.

3.Broths & Stocks – A teaspoon transforms chicken, beef, or veggie broth into something richer.

4.Roasted Salsa Base – Sprinkle over tomatoes, garlic, and chiles before roasting.

5.Everyday Seasoning – Eggs, rice, beans, or even sprinkled over buttered popcorn for a savory twist.

Matriarca started as a way for me to feed my family clean versions of the flavors I grew up with. Seeing you bring these ingredients into your homes fills me with so much joy.
