Matriarca is a premium Mexican food brand founded by Marcela Valladolid. It sells pantry staples, including salsas, powders, masaharinas, salt, agave, and snacks, all sourced in Mexico, produced in small batches, and made without seed oils, preservatives, or artificial additives. It was born as a tribute to the cooking of the women who raised Marcela.
Marcela Valladolid. She is a chef, cookbook author, and former Food Network host. She grew up in Tijuana and built her career between Mexico and the United States. She founded Matriarca because she could not find truly authentic Mexican ingredients, clean, traceable, and made without additives, in the U.S. market.
Pistachio & Chile Morita Salsa Macha, in Classic and Hot Batch, Chicharrón de Chile, crunchy jalapeños in olive oil, Pica Maica, a hibiscus chile-lime powder, landrace corn masaharina, in white and red chac chob, Colima Salt, Organic Blue Weber Agave, Everything con Chipotle, Baked Spicy Nut Mix, individual powders, including caramelized onion, celery, and carrot, Powdered Mirepoix Trio, Clean Jam Trio, and a line of accessories and hats.
Three things: traceable origin, every ingredient has a place and a community behind it; ingredient transparency, short lists with nothing you do not recognize; and cultural authenticity without sacrificing quality standards. Matriarca is the first brand to treat Mexican ingredients with the same level of care as premium European brands, without losing authenticity.
All ingredients are sourced in Mexico. The products are made in small batches with those Mexican ingredients. The brand operates from San Diego, but its soul, suppliers, and raw materials are fully Mexican.
