Masaharina – Landrace Corn Masa Flour from Yucatán
A return to the roots of Mexican cooking—pure, clean, and deeply flavorful.
Masaharina is masa flour made from corn that’s been cooked with slaked lime in the ancestral process of nixtamalización, unlocking both nutrition and flavor. Our version honors that tradition using landrace corn—ancient, naturally adapted varieties—grown in the Yucatán Peninsula and hand-harvested by local farming communities.
Unlike mass-produced options, our masaharina is made only with non-GMO corn and has no preservatives or additives. It brings a rich, clean corn flavor to everything from tortillas, tamales, and sopes to gorditas, tlacoyos, and even atoles. It’s the essential base for building truly authentic Mexican meals.
At Matriarca, we believe in feeding our families with integrity. For all the matriarcas keeping tradition alive in their kitchens, this is the masa we’ve been waiting for.
