This limited edition bundle brings together three handcrafted pieces that celebrate some of Mexico’s most extraordinary traditions: rare Melipona honey from the Yucatán Peninsula, a botanical tea grown in the ancient chinampas of Xochimilco, and a hand-carved wooden honey spoon made by artisans in Oaxaca.

Melipona Honey

Harvested just once a year in small batches near Mérida, Yucatán, this exceptional honey is produced by the sacred stingless Melipona bee (Melipona beecheii), a species revered by the Maya for centuries.

Our founder, Marcela Valladolid, personally visited the collective of women who care for these bees in traditional jobones (hollow log hives) nestled in the backyards of their homes. Their knowledge has been passed down through generations, preserving one of Mexico’s most remarkable beekeeping traditions.

Melipona honey is celebrated for its delicate floral flavor, naturally thinner consistency, and exceptionally high enzymatic activity. Throughout Mesoamerica, it has long been treasured in traditional wellness practices and is known for its soothing, antioxidant, antimicrobial, and moisturizing properties. For generations, it has been used in countless home remedies, including applications for the skin and eyes, making it one of the world’s most revered honeys.

Because this honey is raw and alive with naturally occurring enzymes, it should never be heated above 95°F (35°C). Enjoy it drizzled over fresh fruit, yogurt, cheese, or stirred into tea only after it has cooled below this temperature to help preserve its delicate qualities.

Created exclusively for Matriarca in partnership with Arca Tierra, this loose leaf botanical blend comes from the ancient chinampas of Xochimilco, the floating agricultural gardens that have nourished Mexico for over a thousand years.

Arca Tierra works alongside local farmers to protect and restore these extraordinary farming methods, ensuring the chinampas continue to thrive for generations to come.

Our custom blend was thoughtfully crafted as an evening ritual, helping you slow down and unwind at the end of the day. It includes:

* Hinojo (fennel)
* Menta (mint)
* Amaranto (amaranth)
* Cabello de elote (corn silk)
* Manzanilla (chamomile)

Hand-Carved Honey Spoon

Each wooden honey spoon is individually hand-carved by artisans in Oaxaca using traditional woodworking techniques.

Designed by our founder, Marcela Valladolid, its elegant pointed shape creates a slow, graceful drizzle, making it ideal for finishing tea, fruit, yogurt, or desserts with just the right amount of honey.

Finished without harsh chemicals or synthetic coatings, the spoon is safe for everyday use and allows the pure flavor of the honey to shine through.
